Study: Performance increase and injury prevention by Slack Nut
Method:
Twenty-one male soccer players were graded randomly into two groups. One group received a standardized training, which consits of three exercises on the Slack Nut. The second group received the same training but without the Slack Nut.
The intervention lasted six weeks and was performed twice a week for 15 minutes. The maximum and explosive strength was evaluated 3 dynamometer by a Biodex. With a balance-coordination-platform of MediTech the balance ability was determined.
Results:
The results show that the "Slack Nut group" got better in the capabilities of the maximum strength and balance. Also the results of the explosive strength show that the Slack Nut has a positive influence on that. The "normal" group only improved their maximal strength.
Conclusion:
Slack Nut is a full-fledged sensorimotor training device. It reduces the risk of injuries and can be used for the rehabilitation of traumatic musculoskeletal disorders or to improve performance and also to prevent a fall.
