Description
WaterRower A1 Rowing Machine
With the new WaterRower Model A1, WaterRower has expanded its range with an entry-level model. The front section of the A1 frame is made from natural ash wood. All wooden components are crafted from solid natural ash. The wood has a whitish-yellow color and darkens slightly when exposed to light. Ash is an extremely hard and durable wood. All wooden components are treated with oil and protected against sweat and water. The rail of the WaterRower A1 is made of aluminum. The training monitor displays the essential workout data. Unfortunately, heart-rate monitoring is not available.
Water as Resistance
In rowing, physical fitness is the only factor that matters. Your body weight is completely irrelevant, so the intensity of the workout is determined entirely by your effort. You decide whether you want to train at a very light or very high intensity.
The resistance changes according to the speed of your stroke. Every rowing stroke is an individual movement and automatically adapts to the intensity you set—or, more precisely, to the intensity you are currently capable of producing.
Water resistance provides a high level of safety. There is never any risk of selecting the wrong resistance level. The machine adapts to your fitness level, regardless of how well trained you are.
Water is not only a form of resistance, but also offers numerous advantages:
- Water produces smooth, comfortable movements and is easy on the joints.
- It operates quietly and has a relaxing feel.
- There is no wear and tear.
- Water never tires.
The Best Full-Body Workout
Optimal training with limited time—whether at home, in the gym, or on the water:
- Rowing trains your cardiovascular system.
- Rowing strengthens your core muscles, improves posture, and enhances the musculoskeletal system.
- Rowing improves your physical performance and overall balance.
- It improves strength while increasing endurance and concentration.
The WaterRower provides the feeling of rowing on water. With its materials—wood, steel, and high-quality synthetic materials—it brings you closer to the original sport of rowing.
Functional Design
WaterRower rowing machines are manufactured with the utmost care and great attention to detail. They combine elegant design with practical use in the home, workplace, or fitness studio. The WaterRower is easy to store: when positioned upright, it requires approximately the floor space of a chair.
The WaterRower combines innovative engineering with timeless design. Its aesthetics reflect the physiological movement of rowing. Its simplicity and elegance, compact construction, and natural feeling of moving through water make the WaterRower a fitness machine of exceptional quality.
Differences Between the WaterRower A1 and the Original WaterRower Models

- Foot spacing of 21 cm instead of 14 cm.
- The training monitor offers fewer functions, e.g. no heart-rate measurement and no PC interface.
- Maximum user weight according to the manufacturer: 125 kg instead of 185 kg.
